I like this, but I had to reset it twice... I like that it scans but sometime its turns dark. I still learning so maybe I should review later BUT it kept asking me to do it...

Great app

Great app. Very easy to use. Works just as advertised.

Verdict still out

I purchased this app to help me manage my class library after the first few scans you find out you have to pay more to scan unlimited. Hen after I get that paid for I start scanning and learn to purchase unlimited slots in my library I have to pay again. It sure would be better to just make it all inclusive since the app is no good without those two features. You have to pay one price to try it anyway so who wants to spend money on a trial. Heat should be the free light version. After paying for all the hidden pieces I have scanned a lot of books and it does look like I can export them. I would like to have more than just scan and save though since I am using it to track my classroom library

The Book List

If you read a lot and keep buying duplicate books like have some in the past this app is perfect for you two

Frustrated already

I downloaded the app this afternoon because it suggests it will sync with Zotero. I couldnt see a free trial so I paid $3.99 for the app. But now Im only getting free trial functionality--limited books, limited scans. And by the way, scans that dont work still count against the limited number. Really? Still hoping, I then paid another $1.99 for the ability to export to Zotero but even though it says it installed successfully, Im not getting it as an option. So far, Ive spent $6 for an app Ill likely end up deleting anyway because it doesnt seem to work. I only gave it 2 stars rather than 1 because Im still hoping something will magically fix itself somewhere. But the nickel and diming is ridiculous and I shouldnt have to work this hard to use the app on top of it.

Does its job

I use iBooks and for some bizarre reason you cant save books on it - so whenever I want to add a title to my "someday" list I use this app. It works great!

In App Purchases Dont Work

Very frustrating. I purchased the complete inapp package. The components never installed. You get 10 scans and then you have to buy unlimited scans for $.99. The complete extras package is important and sells for $4.99. The restore purchases button does nothing. I recommend that anyone avoid buying this app until the developer fixes this serious issue.

Book Scanner

Great idea! I have many books, now Ill know What I have and not buy it twice and know which ones I really dont need

Good but could be better

Would be nice if the save button changed color to confirm the save. Would also be nice when you scanned in a bar code if it asked if you wanted to add additional books by that author, and when you said yes it would only show you the books not already entered. Would have been nice to know the various costs up front but not a deal breaker for me.

Good little app

This is a good little app for keeping track of books I want. I dont use it for my thousands of books I own or want. But it is a good little app for taking to the library.

Dislike Button

I do not like paying for something then being charged for components that should be included. Only 10 scans? 99 cents for the scanner? I am deleting this product. Pure crap. Worst $4 I ever spent.

So far so good!

I am using this app to keep track of the books we read this year while homeschooling.

Great app.

This app is so convenient, it helps me keep the books I have read straight.

Useful Organizer

Putting titles of books I would like to read in one app is easy.

Okay app not great

This works fairly well however it doesnt work on all publishers. For example it doesnt read the barcode for Tokyopop and I have a lot from them so I am having to enter each one through the search function.

App good, still adding books to my list

So far, I am enjoying the apps. I will find out how well it works when I am finished, but there needs to be more ways for me to see how many books I have added to my list.

Poor recognition, expensive, frustrating

Tried to scan 4 is not isbn numbers - all 4 failed, and consumed four of my 10 trial slots. Consumed a fifth just trying to get it to read one of the 4 books. All the books were found by manual search, but *who* is going to do that. Giving up and going to another app to manage my library. Only upside is I didnt pay to find out this app is useless. I cant imagine that it normally costs $3.99 and you get nothing for that.

Too many gotchas

Horribly dated 1980s vinyl wood grain look, almost impossible to read white text against yellowish fake wood, text color and size cant be adjusted. Both "grid" and "list" view only show book cover, not a true list (some book titles are impossible to read when shown smaller than a fingernail). Incessant pop up sales pitches. Searching for more detail on a title only takes you to the Amazon sales page (something you can easily do without the app), useless for obscure or out-of-print books. The $4.99 "download" is really just a crippled sample that allows the user to only enter a few samples before having to pay more money. To actually use the app you have to purchase more heavily promoted add-ins. Bottom line: this app needs serious improvement and modernization to be useful and the developer seems to be ignoring all of the helpful negative reviews and seems to have no interest in making his app better.

Didnt Love It

Whereas I do like the "bookshelf skin", I was disappointed in the performance. I used up most of my free scans because one cant tell if its working or not. Im deleting this in favor of Book Buddy whove made a better first impression.

Great niche App, but it will make you chase a carrot!

The initial scans worked well, but as the other reviews state, you dont expect to pay for an app only to get to a certain point in entering data to be forced to pay additional for functionality already installed. However, the price of simple usability can be warranted if the App developer is being dinged on the back end from having the App access different APIs. Thats my assumption. The niche is worth the price considering other choices available that are not designed for one specific item, but designed for additional media inventory data collection.
