My Book List - Library Manager App Reviews

To me, this falls into the category of scamware. They give you an icon for free. Thats it. You gotta pay and then pay again and yet again. And what you do actually get after paying too much isnt worth the time or trouble. At least, if you are going to charge high grade prices, put in the effort to make a really useful app. I hope Apple takes Developers like this out of the system. They punish DEVS that make useful apps for stupid reasons and let crappy developers run wild. I have always loved Apple, but they make it hard sometimes.

This app is awesome! finally something that lets me easily and quickly keep track of all my books.

Ive been using this app on my iPad for some time and have recently synced it to my iPhone for adding books newly purchased. Works great for me as I collect books for my classroom library!

I have read so many books that I was having trouble keeping track of them. I did not want to carry around a spreadsheet and this app has solved my problem.

- Must pay added fees for function. - Only export ability to .bib. I would prefer .csv or .xlsx. - Scanner didnt work on iPad. Had to enter in manually and backspace each time as there is no x to delete all. - Must sign into FB for backup and sync. I would prefer separate account.

Im only able to use the list features of the app. Its not clear on how to list your books by category or by the date you list them. It would be nice if it gave us the option of creating our own category, like the source for example: bookstore, newspaper, retail outlet etc.

This is just an average program. The barcode scanner freezes and you have to go back to List to unfreeze it. When you add notes and try to minimize the keyboard it goes back to the top of the list. When you sort it by date added it puts the newest books at the bottom. UGH. There is no way other than notes to indicate the location of the books. And forget about making global changes! I just paid 4.99 to add all book details and it keeps freezing and adding one or ten books each time I hit refresh. What a pain! I dont even know what all those details are because I dont see any additional information. Lastly it would be really great to have a filed for Who. And when you loan books out. Ok one more thing - you cant categorize custom categorize them (i.e. Jacks books)

I was able to catalog my books and the barcode scanner seems to work really well. It automatically brings up a picture of your book cover which is great. The one thing I didnt like is that once I purchased it, It asked me to make additional purchases if I wanted to add more books. And it up having to pay twice to get an unlimited amount of books added. So if you got more than 10 books go to the App purchase section and purchase the unlimited books add on for $.99

Bought all the extras and they will not work and neither does the app. I get a Facebook logon error. Tried the support site it wont load and the email support comes back undeliverable. This is the first app I have had any major problems with. I really wanted this to work as my book list is huge.

I was looking for an app where I could scan ISBN bar codes and then have a list where the books would be listed WITH the ISBN number. I want to sell my books so I thought it would be easier to scan then copy/paste numbers in a book selling website. I didnt mind paying for this app, but to see the ISBN number I have export my list into my email, then click on the book which takes me to Amazon, where I then have to scroll down to copy the ISBN number. So, this app doesnt really help me

I had used the previous version on my old iPhone and recorded 443 books into this app. I was then able to export the data to an excel file, email it to myself and import to FileMaker so I had a searchable eLibrary of all my books. I liked it so much that I purchased this again for my new iPhone. The biggest benefit is how easily I can scan or even search for a title. In less than a minute I scanned 13 books. Im a fast typist, but no way could I data enter all that info in the same amount of time. Sure, the tracking of free scans was a little annoying. I just paid the $.99 when prompted. The benefits far outweigh the annoyance. I do have a couple things Id like to see improved. 1) the buttons to scan or search could be a bit bigger. 2) the iPhone text prompt doesnt seem to connect while Im typing. I couldnt tap on the suggested word and have it fill in on the app text screen. Also relatively minor concerns. Ill update my review once Ive tested the export feature which is really the whole point of using the app. I did look for the photo feature, seems to be gone, but it was a little quirky in the previous version anyway so not a real loss. Very satisfied with this app.

I just left a five star review two hours ago after using this app for a few months and an hour ago it just deleted all my books so all that work I put into it was for nothing. Do not bother with this app. Do not buy it or even bother using it because it will all be for nothing in the end
